After the success of the first Intermediate/ improvers workshop in January... I'm so excited to be sharing the second ever Wild workshop for amateur calligraphers. BUT, I've made a few changes to the format, and what's included, which I'm so excited to share with you!

The new and improved intensive workshops are ideal for you if you are an amateur calligrapher. Whether you're self taught, or you've attended a calligraphy workshop in the past, this one is for you!

This workshop is all about getting to know you and your technique. I'll help you to review your form and technique, before giving you lots of personalised advice to help you.

Intensive wild workshop guests will recieve a questionnaire ahead of the workshop, asking what specific areas you would like help with. These will inform the format of the workshop, ensuring you're coming away with the input you need to take your calligraphy to the next level.

Previous 'improvers' workshops have included activities such as: looking at your alphabet so I can see your technique and guide you on how to make your strokes and lettering more consistent, before moving onto words, how to add flourishes to your work to make it stand out and look extra fancy. Adding illustrations, writing extended pieces of work (such as table plan cards, letters, and quotes etc.) and how to work with more advanced materials, such as textured, recycled paper (notoriously hard for calligraphers), and highly pigmented metallic inks.

Intensive workshop guests will also benefit from an extra small group environment, and extended kit, which will include premium supplies such as your own personalised essentials kit (with your own nib holder and nib), layout paper, and recycled textured paper, as well as all refreshments.

Who am I to help you with this? I have been teaching for 6 years, and running wild professionally for almost 2 years. I have taught over 200 people the beautiful art of calligraphy. Workshoppers regularly comment on how pleasant the environment is, and how well I am able to tailor the different activities for varying abilities within the room.

I've teamed up with Handmade Nottingham, based in Nottingham City Centre to bring this workshop to you. The afternoon is set to be relaxing and fun all at once, with refreshments on hand included in your ticket price.

Tickets are extra limited as I want to keep the intermediate group small and give you as much 1:1 support as you may like. They would be great for individuals wanting to meet like minded creatives or small groups wanting to try something different. You can also purchase tickets as a gift, simply detail the recipients name when you order.

Please arrive promptly. Clothing wise, I would recommend short sleeves or sleeveless to avoid smudging as you get creative.

There's no parking on site, but Handmade Nottingham is easily accessed via public transport. You can get the tram to Royal Centre Tram Stop which is a 5 minute walk away, or get various buses to Nottingham Victoria Centre and walk from there. There are lots of lovely bars and coffee shops nearby should you wish to meet friends before or after and make a day of it!

I look forward to seeing you there,

of course, should you have any questions - just get in touch at

Kind regards,

Faye - Wild Calligraphy
