After the success of the first Intermediate/ improvers workshop in January... I'm so excited to be sharing the second ever Wild Improvers Workshops with you all! But hurry... THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE EXTRA SMALL so I get to really hone in on your current level and help you as much as I can to get to the next level.
I've teamed up with Handmade Nottingham, based in Nottingham City Centre to bring this workshop to you. The afternoon is set to be relaxing and fun all at once, with refreshments on hand included in your ticket price.
This will be my 15th workshop - and I'm so excited to invite you to join me to master the beautiful art of modern calligraphy! As a teacher by formation, I love sharing my skills with others and enabling you to make optimum progress thanks to detailed guidance and 1:1 support.
As this is intermediate/improvers, this workshop focuses on skills that add depth to your work. We'll cover lots of different ways you can make your work stand out.
We'll start with your alphabet so I can see your technique and guide you on how to make your strokes and lettering more consistent, before moving onto words, how to add flourishes to your work to make it stand out and look extra fancy. I'll guide you on adding illustrations, writing extended pieces of work (such as table plan cards, letters, and quotes etc.) before finishing with how to work with textured, recycled paper (notoriously hard for calligraphers).
By the end of the workshop, you will have the knowledge and confidence to create your own a4 written print. Some workshoppers will be able to create this on recycled paper.
Tickets are extra limited as I want to keep the intermediate group small and give you as much 1:1 support as you may like. They would be great for individuals wanting to meet like minded creatives or small groups wanting to try something different. You can also purchase tickets as a gift, simply detail the recipients name when you order.
Please arrive a little before 3.30pm so we can have a little natter before the class begins! Clothing wise, I would recommend short sleeves or sleeveless to avoid smudging as you get creative.
There's no parking on site, but Handmade Nottingham is easily accessed via public transport. You can get the tram to Royal Centre Tram Stop which is a 5 minute walk away, or get various buses to Nottingham Victoria Centre and walk from there. There are lots of lovely bars and coffee shops nearby should you wish to meet friends before or after and make a day of it!
I look forward to seeing you there,
of course, should you have any questions - just get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Kind regards,Faye - Wild Calligraphy
